Did a photo session for a food joint called MexiaZn today. Here are some photos of their Kimchi Taco (Asian Fusion Grill). Thoughts would be awesome.

Hey guys!

Just a quick mention.

I’m starting a Kickstarter for my upcoming mini-series “The Catalyst”. You can get more info about the series and possibly fund the project HERE!

Please spread to your friends! It’s okay if the project doesn’t get fully funded though. It just means I’ll have to wait a few more months to save up money to shoot. But thanks if you do!

Who is Chad Future and why he matters.K-Pop fans and those immersed in the culture may know who Chad Future is. For those who don’t, here’s a little bit of information. Back in October of 2011, Chad Future was a hot topic among international k-pop fans when he debuted with his boy band Heart2Heart. The group, however, became infamous, as people showed their disapproval for the group’s title track FaceBook Official. I however liked them.Yes, I thought FaceBook Official was a weak track and I frankly did not like it. But I’ve been a fan of David Lehre (Chad Future’s real birth name) since his MySpace filmmaking days so I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and purchased the group’s mini-album on iTunes. I was shocked. Their two other songs U and Me and International were unbelievably awesome. I shared the music with people I knew that disliked Heart2Heart and FaceBook Official and even they quickly changed their tune, admitting that the music was good. And so I decided to keep tabs on ChadAKADavid, curious as to what his next move would be. And over the past few months I’ve seen him interview K-pop artists and become more immersed in the culture. But it wasn’t until earlier this morning when I saw his latest music video. This time around he busted out a cover/remake/remix of K-Pop’s arguably biggest group: Big Bang. The song in question is Bad Boy, one of the title tracks off Big Bang’s latest mini-album Alive (which has been doing successfully well). There are two things to note about the music video. The cover itself is pretty damn decent. It doesn’t follow the original lyrics of Bad Boy but again, it ain’t bad. And the cinematography in the music video is great, and greatly resembles the original music video, giving off that chill Brooklyn vibe.So now you know who Chad Future is. But why does he matter you ask?I’ll tell you why, audience. If you visit Chad’s FaceBook page, you’ll see that his ‘About Me’ tagline says, “Bridging the gap between American pop and K-Pop (AK-Pop)”.This made me pause and think for a second. We know that Koreans are trying to bring K-Pop into the States and so far have been unsuccessful. Despite how big they are in Korea, artists like Se7en and BoA have tried—but failed. And despite how avidly they are promoting themselves, SNSD’s The Boys is no hit either. Why? Because the music is wrong.Se7en’s Girls, BoA’s Eat You Up & SNSD’s The Boys. These are some of the big K-Pop stars that have debuted in America but did not cause a mass effect. The problem lies in their music. All those songs sound like Koreans trying too hard to sound American. There’s hardly any K-Pop element to it and it just winds up becoming a flop. If you think those songs are good, then you probably like mainstream recycled Rihanna and Lil Wayne stuff. Which is fine. That’s your taste. But for K-Pop to truly break out in Korea, it can’t be a good song. It’s got to be a GREAT song. Something amazing and eargasmic. And so far, the only two groups that legitimately have the potential to make an impression on the American market is Big Bang and the Wonder Girls. Why? Because Big Bang and Wonder Girls have shown with their new albums that they blend elements of K-Pop with a slight American style. Songs like Fantastic Baby by Big Bang and G.N.O. by Wonder Girls sound super American but not like the mainstream recycled trash. They keep in the K-Pop elements that make a song so damn addictive and pleasing to one’s ears. But that’s all about K-Pop trying to make it and break it in the States. But what about an American trying to bring K-Pop here? As his tagline says, he’s “bridging the gap between American pop and K-Pop”. If you think about it, no one has done this before. Or even thought of it. Which makes Chad Future stand out. Sure, Americans have collaborated with Korean artists, but when have you seen a white guy making K-Pop music? So why does he matter?Whether he makes it or not, Chad Future is a familiar face. And by a familiar face, I mean he’s white. Look, I don’t like playing the race card but it’s going to be awful hard for a bunch of foreigners to make it in a country filled with people that barely know anything about the world outside their own country. But if a white man were to introduce the K-Pop genre into the American market, it might make people more open to the new wave of music. This is my point of view. And I don’t mean to sound cocky, but my point of view is right. I was born in Korea but raised in the States. I have an American mindset but also a Korean one at the same time. I can speak both languages PERFECTLY without an accent. Face it, if you know someone who’s Korean and they speak English without an accent, they usually butcher the Korean. Plus, there’s a reason I was the top writer for such a long time at allkpop. And even though I left allkpop a long time ago, I still keep my eye on the K-Pop scene because big things are going to shift in these next 5 years and Chad Future may be one of the few people to be involved in the initial launch. It’s all going to be based on how good Chad Future’s original music is going to be. Only time will tell, so if you’re a K-Pop fan, keep your eye on Chad because he just might change the Future.

hey there. randomly searching through wedding dresses and came across your short film. I'm a budding composer and would love to write something to accompany your visuals. please contact me if you're interested. I'm an australian 20 year old female student and I'm just looking to broaden my abilities. If there is something that you're working on that needs a score it'd be my pleasure. The only thing I would ask would be to use it in my portfolio, with you credited of course.

Yeah, of course! We always love to work with other people trying to hone their skills and get their own work out there. You can e-mail me: jae@formoftherapy.com or tweet me @sunnysideyams and if you have one, you can also hit me up on facebook at fb.com/yimyams

The Proposal [REBLOG & SHARE & WATCH IN 720p HD]

Cherish those closest to you. Don’t ever hesitate.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES: After much debate, I’ve decided to release it. Introducing, I guess my first “short film” entitled, ‘The Proposal’ starring Joey Piceno-Garcia, Nancy Ma &Kyle Corro.

Be sure to watch it in 720p HD. If it’s got one thing going for it, it looks awesome.

*You DON’T have to read this following part: So this is my first “short film” as it rounds about at a whopping 10 minutes. I shot this before; last year with different actors and that cut was 5 minutes.

I’m glad how this version turned out and I’m glad I waited a year to prepare and hone my craft to make it a bit better.

Although, I do want to VICIOUSLY apologize for some of the audio in the video. I don’t know WHAT the fuck happened, but in some scenes, the mic just decided to be a fucking asshole and not record or record it really low; ‘twas weird.

But yeah, it’s my first short film so go easy on me, as Ralph Lim says, I’m “sensitive”. But this has been quite an experience and I’ll be sure to take what I learned from this shoot to improve future videos. Thanks for watching! And if you’re still reading this, you need a life. But you also win… FREE PIE!!!!

Dear Soulmate, A Video Love Letter [REBLOG & SHARE & WATCH IN 720p HD]

To the one with no name.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES: Yes! I know, my dubbing sucks ): This was honestly a very experimental video. I hadn’t done anything like this before so I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off like I imagined. But basically, this is a video letter to one’s soulmate. Even if you don’t know them yet.

Dear Soulmate, [REBLOG & SHARE & WATCH IN 720p HD]

To the one with no name.

I don’t know who you are,
Or what you look like.

I’ve never seen your smile,
Nor felt your touch.

But the thought of you being out there,
Waiting for me, thinking of me as I do of you now…
It breaks my heart.

Because what people have…
What I once thought I had…
It’s what I want.

But what I really want,
Is to jump to the end of the book and start a new one.
With you.
But I can’t.

I know that I can’t skip through life.
I’ve gotta go through all the chapters in this book,
If I want to start a new one.

So I’ll keep waiting,
And I’ll take comfort in the fact that,
Wherever you are—you’re coming.
You’re coming as fast as you can.

And hey, who knows?
Maybe our paths have crossed already.
We just didn’t know it yet.

The Thing About Valentine’s Day [REBLOG & SHARE & WATCH IN 720p HD]

There’s always those who are for Valentine’s Day and those who are against. Which one are you?

This is an improv video. We came up with the idea for the video 5 minutes prior to shooting and made up lines as we went along. Believe it or not, this is the shorter version. Bloopers and extras coming soon!
